As Fred Jackson ran in a 10-yard screen pass from Trent Edwards for a touchdown, I was beginning to believe that the 11-game losing streak to New England was going to end for the Buffalo Bills.

The ones who watched the game have to admit that the Bills should have won that game; the same fans will also tell you that Leodis McKelvin should have taken a knee in the endzone instead of trying to return a kick with the “hands team” on the field for the Bills. So in essence, Buffalo deserved to lose the game as well.

A good point was brought up my Mike Tirico in the broadcast when he said this is very similar to the game two years ago when Nick Folk hit two 50-plus field goals at the end of the game to give the Cowboys a 25-24 victory in Buffalo. Granted this wasn’t the same exact situation, but with the final score the way it ended up, it might as well be.

New England dominated Buffalo in nearly every facet of the game for all 60 minutes, but the Bills led the most important statistic for the first 59:10. Buffalo’s defense, despite giving up 441 yards of total offense to the Pats, didn’t play too bad considering most of Tom Brady’s pass completions were for short, underneath routes that went for 6-10 yards a piece.

Buffalo now has a week until they see declining Byron Leftwich and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before they welcome in an even heavier passing team in Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.
